The Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16V was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1983. A performance version of the recently launched 190 model, the 2.3-16V was powered by a Cosworth-Mercedes-Benz M102 four-cylinder engine developed by Cosworth. The 2.3-16V Cosworth had a cylinder head cast from a light alloy and featured double overhead camshafts.
This particular Mercedes-Benz featured a body kit to reduce the drag coefficient, a limited-slip differential, an enlarged fuel tank, and shorter-ratio steering. The suspension was lower and stiffer, and there were larger anti-roll bars. Inside, the car offered sports seats front and rear. The model was only available in Blue-Black metallic or Smoke Silver.
