Rare 'Veloce' version features Veloce petrol engine and unique bucket seats.
In 1966, the Giulia Sprint GT was replaced by the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, which was very similar but featured many improvements: an improved engine - slightly more powerful and torquey, better interior and exterior changes. Along with the new 1750 Spider Veloce, which featured a redesigned engine, the Sprint GT Veloce was introduced at the 36th Geneva Motor Show in March 1966. Although the 1750 GT Veloce, which replaced the Sprint GT Veloce, was introduced in 1967, production continued throughout the year, with the last 30 cars being completed in 1968. By then, total production of the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce had reached 14,240 units.
This rare Veloce has recently been fully restored. Unique features of this model include bucket seats, stainless steel bumpers, grille and custom dashboard. It has original 15" Alfa Romeo rims. Stainless steel bumpers and trim around the car are very stylish and complete the look. The interior features period pieces such as the dashboard and steering wheel complete this timeless classic car.
Another feature that distinguishes the Veloce is that its engine block is different. It is the 00536 Veloce engine. It has a 1,570cc cylinder capacity and 4 cylinders. Compared to the 00502 type of the normal Giulia Sprint GT, it has larger diameter exhaust valves (37 mm instead of 35 mm). It produces 125 hp at 6,000 rpm. On top of that, it has 2 Weber carburettors. All this is completed with a 5-speed manual transmission. Gear shifts are smooth and have the bone structure of the year it was produced.
